11-12 February 2012

So the whole family and the boyfriends went to Clark and yes, it’s for the 17th Hot Air Balloon Festival. We’ve been going to this festival since 2007, I guess. And though it’s been just the same thing each year, the whole thing just never fails to bore me. The downfall this year is that the crowd is just so big. Maybe because the festival has gained popularity over the years. I can remember the time when there were just a handful of people and we can get closer to the balloons when they inflate and stuff. There was even a marching band exhibition before, when the festival grounds were not as crowded as this year. I’ll try to look for the old photos from circa 2007.

On the upside though, this year’s festival was special because Lester and my sister’s boyfriend, Miguel, joined us. :) We got there early Saturday morning and L was so sleepy that right after the balloons took off, he fell asleep on the mat that Mama bought. Haha.

Hubs, I think you missed this: the para-gliders in formation.

And he’s up after sleeping on my lap for almost an hour. I couldn’t feel my legs afterwards. LOL.

This one’s new: a drift battle. I don’t know where it fits in the “anything that flies” though.

Skydivers.

So there were only two things that we really came for. One is the balloon take off early in the morning and the balloon glow at night. It’s where they inflate all of the balloons and light them up (without taking off, of course). It’s just beautiful. Unfortunately for us, it was windy that night so not all of the balloons were inflated.

And in between those two events, we had lunch at AC Rumpa. Will post photos in another entry, though, this is getting too long. Hehe. We then headed to our hotel for siesta. I wanted to swim that afternoon because of the heat but I was afraid that the stamp on my arm might get erased. See, they stamped us so that we can go back in without having to buy another ticket.

So to cap this entry off, this is our hotel villa after we came from the balloon night glow. :)
